Date Relationship not working

I am trying to display the current open incidents by the month they are due but I cannot seem to make the date relationship work as I have done with the actions - screenshots below

Details on the Open Actions Due by Month chart - this is what I want to replicate with the Incidents chart

This is how I originally had the chart - but the data points are so far away that it's too hard to read
