Date Hierarchy Stuck
Hello,
I ran into a recent issue when attempting to deploy an updated dataset containing some date hierarchies from Power BI Desktop to Power BI service. During deployment, the server actually restarted and I have noticed some weird behaviors since. The overall dataset is a mix of Direct Query and Import from an on prem SQL server, but the tables I seem to be having issues with are all imported.
After the server rebooted on me, I reverted the changed SQL queries as the dataset was completely unresponsive on the Power BI service. The query was orginally modified to supply Power BI all the columns it need to build the date hierarchies (month, quarter, day, 15 minute interval, etc..). Since the reboot, the query found within the Power BI desktop application does not contain these fields, but the date hierarchies are still being generated.
Multiple times I have attempted to delete out the date hierarchies and redeploy the dataset, but as soon as I publish the date hierarchies are all populated even though the underlying SQL query does not contain the fields it needs to build out the hierarchies. Since this event, I have noticed other random tables in the dataset revert their queries to older versions.
Even though the date hierarchies work perfectly from the user perspective, I am worried that since I am unable to remove them that something is stuck within either the Power BI Desktop Application or somewhere in the deployment pipeline to the Power BI service.
There is a good chance that I am simply missing something regarding deleting out the date hierarchies, but there feels like there is something else going on. Is there anyway for me to "clean" the imported tables? I have around 85 reports / dashboards that depend on this dataset so I am trying to find a way to fix this issue without my users having to touch existing reports.
Thanks for the assistance.

I would open a ticket with Microsoft.

Hi erikbailey ,
Please open the related report file in Power BI Desktop, check whether the file enable the option "Auto date/time for new files". Select File > Options and settings > Options, and then select either the Global or Current File page. On either page, the option exists in the Time intelligence section.
You can review the following documetention for more details.
