Hi,
I have a date column app_date formatted as a date dd/mm/yyyy however, I can't do anything with it as its not a date hierarchy. Any idea why please or how to change my date to have this option?

You can check if the "Auto data/time" option is turned on by following the steps below. If it is not turned on, then tick the box and reopen Power BI Desktop.

@M_SBS_6 You can make it Date column by following the below screen shot:
It's already set as a date and that's why I can't work out why it won't allow a hierarchy
@M_SBS_6 If you join this Date column with another table's Date column so hierarchy will not be there.
It's not joined to a date table either. I'm baffled by this.
