Date - Data type

Hi Everyone,

 

My Date Created field/option is not showing the hierarchy calendar, the data type is set to Date but its still not showing for me to get the Year, Month, Day options.  Can someone please advise on what I should do?

Found the issue, I had my data connectivity mode to "DirectQuery" once I changed it to "Import" I was able to see the calendar and the date hierarchy.  This is strange that it doesnt work for both the modes, anyways I am glad I tried this.  Thank you!!

@sraj In case you have a date table and that is linked to this data field that could be reason. Date hierachy will be available in the main date table and not other table linked to it.

 

Also, check in the option settings under Global->Time Intelligence option is enabled.

Hello @sraj ,

 

Sometimes it won't create date hierarchy. probably you can create column for year, month, querter, day and create new hierarchy.

Make sure your data connectivity mode is set to IMPORT, for some reason it didnt work with DIRECT QUERY.  See if this works for you.
