Dataverse Connector Non-responsive/Does Nothing

Hello, so currently when I try to use the Dataverse connector from Power BI Desktop, nothing happans. There's no errors or anything, just nothing when clicked from the top ribbon/hotbar. Additionally, there are no dataverse connectors appearing in Power Platform tab of the full Get Data window.

I've seen some people say that you need to turn on the 'Use my default web browser' in the security settings, but I have done that already and it did not change the issue.

Any suggestions? If it is pertinent, I'm currently using the Pro free trial with my work account.

Thanks for your time.

Hi @bstein13 ,

Please check the version of your Power BI Desktop. If it is not the latest version, I suggest you download a the latest from this link.

If yes, I suggest you to refer to this offical blog.

To use Power BI with Dataverse, you need the following items:

  • Download and install Power BI Desktop, which is a free application that runs on your local computer. You can download Power BI desktop here.
  • A Power Platform environment with the following privileges:
    • To access data in a table, you must have read privileges to the table.
    • To modify a table in make.powerapps.com, you must have a security role that includes maker privileges, such as system customizer or environment maker.
    • You must have the appropriate Power BI license to build and share Power BI reports.
    • To use the Dataverse connector, the Enable TDS endpoint setting must be enabled in your environment. More information: Manage feature settings

Note:

Most proxy servers don’t handle the Tabular Data Stream (TDS) protocol data used by the Dataverse connector for Power BI.

Also please check your environment and your organization network policy.

Here is a post with similar issue like yours and I hope it could help you solve your issue.
