Datavarse to Power BI

Hi team,

We want to connect to particular view in Datavarse with Power BI Desktop in order to show data in particular order and format. We are not ble to get view to connect when we are trying from PBI Desktop.

Even if we connect entire Datavarse table we are getting,

  1. few duplicate columns
  2. few additional columns which are not part of our table
  3. few columns with prefix and not the column with display name

Can you please provide some guidance on it ASAP as we have deliverables planned.

Hi @anandmanurkar ,

To import view-specific data from Dataverse into Power BI, it is recommended that you use the power query connector instead of XML.

For more details, you can refer to below document:

Power Query Dataverse connector - Power Query | Microsoft Learn

Hi @anandmanurkar - Power BI does not directly support connecting to Dataverse views as a data source; it connects to tables.

Open Power BI Desktop and select Get Data > Power Platform > Dataverse.
Sign in to your Dataverse environment and choose the table corresponding to your view.
Import or DirectQuery mode: Choose based on your need to handle large data volumes and refresh requirements.

Or using

FetchXML is an excellent option for accessing and transforming Dataverse data in Power BI while avoiding the limitations of direct table connections. FetchXML provides a way to pull data exactly as defined in a Dataverse view, including filters, sorting, and column selections.

Hope this helps.
