When I attempt to connect to a dataflow it is missing from the list of options under "Get Data" in Power BI Desktop. I have used dataflows successfully for over a year until this issue popped up last week. I can still connect to existing dataflows without issue, I just can't pick them as a new datasource.
When I click on "Get Data" and search for "Dataflows" this is what I see:
In the "Get Data" dropdown menu there is a link for "Dataflows" but when I click on it nothing happens.
This is happening in the most recent July 2023 version of Power BI Desktop. I have restarted and re-logged in and the issue persists. When I log into the Power BI service I see my dataflows and can use them on the service without issue.
@amitchandak, thank you for the suggestion. I made sure I had no Windows updates pending, I uninstalled Power BI Desktop, and reinstalled the latest version. Unfortunately the situation persists and I still don't see Dataflows as an option:
This issue started after resolving another issue where Power BI Desktop would not successfully log in with my Microsoft 365 credentials. As part of resolving that issue I deleted all of the cache files on my computer before reinstalling Power BI Desktop. I don't know if that has anything to do with this issue or if the timing is just coincidental.
I downloaded the Power BI desktop 64 install from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494
This issue resolved on its own. I'm still using the same version, but dataflows started appearing again as expected. I'm not sure what corrected the issue, but it wasn't any direct action I took - my best guess is that it was related to a subsequent Windows Update.
