Hello everyone,
I am currently experiencing issues when connecting Power BI Desktop to my Dataflow.
I created a Dataflow that retrieves a view from my SQL Database. After setting up the Dataflow, I enabled the Enhanced Compute Engine in the Dataflow settings and refreshed the Dataflow, as required by this Microsoft article
The problem arises when I open a blank Power BI file and load that view from the Dataflow. I attempt to change the connection mode to DirectQuery under Applied Steps > Source, but I receive the following error: "This step results in a query that is not supported in DirectQuery mode."
I haven’t added any steps in the data manipulation process.
Does anyone know what could be causing this issue and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!
Yes We have the same issue.
First step is to connect to the source and second step is navigation.
All this automatically generated, but still it cannot use Direct query (yes we are using premium capacity)
Hi All,
Fisrtly, amitchandak thanks you for your reply!

@Lucas_Neves , Make sure you are using a PPU or Premium Capacity workspace. If you are using an existing report that has been published, ensure it was in a Premium Capacity workspace.
Let it add as import mode, and check if it adds any steps like changing the datatype, etc. That can cause issues. Make sure all Change Type steps are handled in the Dataflow.
