DataSource Error: SQL: The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted

I am not able to refresh the data for a Power BI report created by one of my teammates. I was able to log in with my Microsoft account and connect to the SQL database server but now I am getting the error listed above in the subject. When I tried to change the Credentials Type in the Data Source Settings from Organizational to Windows my credentials didn't work. My credentials also aren't accepted for the database via database login.

The only way that we've gotten it to work is to log in with the database credentials of the person who created the report. (Of note: He he is a super user for that SQL database). Multiple people need to access and refresh this report so it needs to work for other users.

How should I go about fixing this issue? Is it related to how the Power BI database connection was set up? Or the SQL database permissions?

Needs more details. Is this an on-premise database or an Azure SQL database?

Ask the database administrator to check that all Microsoft patches are applied to the database server and that no certificates have expired.

I believe it is on-premise only at the moment.
