Data type : Date Format : dd-mmm-yy

Hi All,

Suddenly,  date format : dd-mmm-yy dissapered.

I removed power BI and download again but it only gives me Japanese or yyy-mmm-dd selections.

Could you please help me how to return to original setting?

All the best,

cocomy

I have Version: 2.87.762.0 64-bit (November 2020), and it do not have custome option for date. But have facility to type format. I tried something like SQL format as per image, and it worked for me. ( may be helpful for someone). Cheers!!!

Hi Guys,

For anyone that needs dates displayed as "dd-MMM-yy" for instance, you can create a measure:

formatdate = FORMAT(LASTDATE(date_table[date_col]),"dd-mmm-yy"), then pull the measure into your visual.

Sometimes You may need the original date_col values in your table but you can hide them at the end/off screen etc.

Has anybody else found the dd-mmm-yy format removed in recent versions again?

I am not getting DD-MMM-YY format option? how to get that

That format was only available in older versions of PBI Desktop. It's not available in the current version. I've had to go back to Jan 2018 to see that format

Is any way of getting this format back?. I do not see a "custom format" option as in Excel.

I really need my dates to show as DD/MMM/YY, since many people from different countries work with the same PBI model and I need to avoid confusion between Days and Months in dates.
