Data refresh with removed columns

Hi all, I have seen this query before but I after a different solution to the ones already appointed. Not sure if there is though, thus the post. I built a team schedule and have the hours booked on people for the months from Jun - Dec. Every week I update the report with a new data set, with new hours booked each month. Issue is, we are in August and I no longer need to see what was booked in June and July. Comes September, I dont want to see what was booked in August. I just want the data from 'today' onwards. My data source is composed of an excel report, which I pull from our internal system. I can select the report from June - Dec, every month. But I dont want to. I want to be able to refresh the data without having to keep the past data. Is this possible without having to go through edit query ? I thought Power BI would be smart enough to interpret that I only want to see the hours from Aug onwards, since this is the data that has been uploaded. Is this possible? Am I doing something wrong with the report setup? Thanks in advance, R
