Data in Desktop not Matching Workspace

I built a report in Power BI Desktop that is connected to a SPO list. The total number I get in the matrix table matched the number in the workspace until I deleted some entries in SP. Now, the BI Desktop reflects the correct number but the workspace still shows the old number prior to my deletions of items in the list.

Occasionally, When I refresh the desktop, publish, and refresh the data source in the workspace the numbers will match but soon, upon reloading the report, the numbers won’t match again. It’s behaving as if the workspace is using cached data somehow verses using what’s been published to it.

Can anyone help me resolve this?

Hi @fcoy ,

According to your description, you have firstly refreshed data in Desktop ,then re-published the report to service , and the data will be updated, right?

If so, please try to refresh dataset manually in service, make sure it has successfully refreshed.

And then open the report ,click "F5" to refresh the report again to avoid the delay.

Best Regards,
Eyelyn Qin

Sharepoint data sources are refreshed in the workspace "roughly every hour" according to the official documentation.  If you need it faster you can add your own refresh requests.

Thank you, Ibendlin, for the response. The refresh schedule is not the issue. The issue is the numbers I get in the reports in Power BI Desktop don't match the numbers the are shown in the workspace? Any idea why that is happening?
