Data does not load from query editor to data view

Hi folks,

Need help/suggestion

I have imported New Column from hana view to existing report.Existing report consists of below transformation steps

1]some changed type of text-date columns

2]some replace values in date columns

3]Some calculated conditional columns

I can see the value in Newly imported Column in Query editor but not in Data/Report view.

I have tried below steps

1]Loaded table without "Changed type" transformation ,Newly Imported column loads in Data view

2]Tried enabling/ disabling data load,it does not work

3]I haven't applied any Filter transformation.

Any suggestion would be appreaciated .

The Issue has been resolved .It seemed there was some module load error in Power BI from HANA.

While loading data in power BI for DATE column we must take care that "00000000" value should not exist. As CONVERT function  fails to convert this row/garbage  value in Date Format .

I'm having the same issue, and unfortunately none of the proposed solutions work. I have tried updating to the most recent version and also imported the data again - however, without luck.

I'm importing my data from Excel. Any ideas?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Please right click your tables in Query Editor, and check if you disable the "Include in report refresh" option. Once the option is disabled, updated data will not appear in report.

If it still can't work, please try to rebooted your machine and refresh your data source.

Hi @v-xuding-msft

Thank you for the suggestion.

I had tried mentioned steps as well but it did not work.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Maybe you could try to install the latest version (2.73.5586.1101)of Power BI Desktop to run. And if there are not lots of content in your report, I think you could try removing and re-connecting the data source. If you can't do that, please try to re-load the table.

Hope this will help you.

Xue Ding

Hi @v-xuding-msft ,

Tried below steps ,still column does not load

1]Updated power BI  to the latest version.

2]Reloaded data source

Tried to load the column in New PBIX file with same transformation ,it does not load.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Can you load all the data now?  If my answer is helpful, please accept it as a solution. You could share your own solution as well. More people who encounter the same issue will benefit here.

Hi ,

I am also facing the same issue, even my report is pulling data from HANA, and the issue is cause for Date column, can you please healm what you did to resolve this issue?

Hi @Anonymous ,

I reproduced it when I connect to Excel file and then only "Apply" the query not "Apply & Close". The new column will be shown  while I click "Apply & Close" then refresh in report view. If your scenario is the same as mine, you can try the way.
