Data Refresh in Desktop fails w/o opening data in PowerQuery

Hi there,

I am facing an one issue with one of my desktop reports. I have created a fairly simple dashboard with several (local) Excel inputs that are wrangled with PowerQuery. When I replace the source data files and try to refresh, the refresh window gets stuck in "Waiting for other queries" with one table never finishing "Evaluating". If I do open up PowerQuery with "Transform Data", click refresh there and wait for it to finish (which does take some minutes), save and refresh the Dashboard again, everything works fine and I can save. If I reopen the file my problem starts all over again.

Is there any fix to this? No data seems to be broken...

  • tlo11 , seem strange. Clear memory management cache and increase it to 8-10 GB supported by system RAM and virtual memory

    try some of these setting

Make sure you have 20GB or more free on hard disk.  These can ensure data load

      Hey amitchandak,

thanks- I did indeed help. I increased the possible RAM usage to 16GB (my machine does have 32GB) and cleared the cache. Thanks again!

      Hi
Clearing the cache worked for me as well.
      Thank you for the tip!
