Data Refresh & Templates in Power BI Desktop
Hi All
thanks for reading this - I wonder if you could help. I am new to the Power BI software but love the dashboards I can now create, but Excel allows me to input and update data easily, but is there a way I can do this in Power BI?
I have created a new dashboard, but want to use this as a basis of a template so i add a new data source to it each month so it updates accordingly......can I do this?!
Thanks!!!
If you can use onedrive for business/share point that will be great, yes schedule refresh is part of powerbi service.
if you want to use share drive where your excel file is then you need to powerbi gateway.
here is few links for reference

Anonymous if i understood correctly you want powerbi dashboards to get refresh after you enter the data in excel sheet whcih is data source for your dashboard, correct?
If that is correct, you need your excel file on sharepoint or one drive, and setup schedule refresh for your reports. If you provide more details, will ablet to assist.

Is this via the desktop software or via the web based side of things?
I haven’t noticed the schedule as yet....thank you- parry2k
