Data Refresh Timeout: Data not refreshing to current
Hi All,
I am having performance issues. And I get the below message. So Data do not refresh to current.
The refresh operation failed because it took more than 120 minutes to complete. Consider reducing the size of your dataset or breaking it up into smaller datasets.
Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details.
I have 6 tables in my dataset. Although one of the tables have Date and Time field(Very relevant).
I'm connected to the database as below.
Data source: Microsoft SQL Server
I've removed all non-relevant colums from the dataset.
But this issue persist.

Hi Anonymous,
You encountered this error in Power BI service related with scheduled refresh, right? It might be that you need to do some optimisation first, by entering a SQL query to only bring in required data. You can consider reducing the size or complexity of your dataset, or consider breaking the dataset into smaller pieces.

Hi Yuliana Gu,
Please I need assistance on how I can write the sql query/optimisation, or How I can reduce my dataset or How I can break it into smaller pieces or minimize the complexity.
Despite my removing many columns that are not needed, the issue still persist. Its only one table that has the relevant data.
This data has been updating until recently. This now happens no matter the amount of data.. Even if I have to get the data to start from today and click refresh,, It takes ages and comes up with this 120min error.
