Data Point Table not available (greyed out) for map visualisation

I would like to add a Data Point Table option to a map visualisation, so that users can right click on a data point and open a table showing only data for the record or records at that data point.

Currently, the Data Point Table is greyed out.

This page explains that "If the Data point table button in the ribbon is disabled and grayed-out, it means the selected visualization does not support Data point table.", however it also says that the map visualisation is one of the visualisation types that does support Data Point Table.

Is there a way that I can enable and use Data Point Table in map visualisations?

Thanks

Hi @JKit ,

If you want to use the data point feature, your map visual needs other data information in addition to the location information. In other words, your Bubble Size also needs data in order to use the data point feature.

Note: Data point table has the following limitations:

  • You can't change the data in the Data point table view and save it back to the report.
  • You can't use Data point table when your visual uses a calculated measure in a (multidimensional) measure group.
  • You can't use Data point table when you are connected to a live multidimensional (MD) model.
  • You can't export the Data point table view to PDF or static PowerPoint.
