Data Model & Measures where table has no join and Joined with other table

Hi Experts

Scenario: I need Information of

1. EOI (Expression of Interest) Tables of sales project where initiation of sales & projection of sales is done. 

So I created EOI fact and EOI category as dimenson for filters

2.Some of EOI will move to Sales but requirement is to show EOI inner join with Sales 

so I have a table (EOI Inner Join with Sales) with EOI ID as Primary key but it has many measures so created many Dimension tables like Dept, Division

3. DDate is created in Power query joined with (Sales+ EOI) table.

When my filters of date for EOI stand alone not working, I joined Ddate with EOI - Bi diectional 

Questions: 

1. Please advise experts if this is ok ?  Please can you suggest if this is not fine ? 

2. Now I see a problem, I am not able to get the slicer of calendar in slider (horizontal) ( at this stage, i am not sure if this is because of this, I need to go to office to confirm on Monday).  

3. Do I need to take any special requirements in Measures to ensure this works like Calculate - Modifiers ?

Not very clear... Can we create sample data and delete sensitive data, and express the results in pictures, we can help you better.

For the second question:

It looks like your date column isn't in date format. To change it you can either edit the query and change it to a date type or use the modeling tab at the top of the page to change it to date. 

Typically date columns have a mini calendar icon in the fields pane that let you know that it's a date type.

Firstly thanks a ton for your time and responding. 

1. To put in words, can I have two tables not joined having common dimensions and also Date (this I am now aware can be done).  

2. The calendar issue is because of my .PBIX corruption after I moved it from home with latest version to office older version with (Unsure server settings) this I have recreated and able to get the slider as calander sorted. 

If you still require me to pull office, ones I will do it tomorrow. Please let me know.
