Data Import Error: Details: "The specified package is invalid. The main part is missing."

I'm trying to import a new excel document to power bi desktop and I'm getting the error "Details: "The specified package is invalid. The main part is missing.""

I've seen people suggest changing the file type, but that didn't work, and also shouldn't have been the problem since the data that is currently already in the project is also (.xlsx)

I saw another suggestion about removing word wrap from headers, but none of my headers utilize word wrap, so that can't be the problem.

I'm really at a loss and could use any additional help.

And before it is suggested, unfortunately I cannot share the file for testing.

Did you mean the import feature to import excel workbook contents to power bi? Does any plugin or external data source connection in your worksheet? Have you added any macro/script for specific cell formatting or conditional formatting to your sheet? Please share some detailed information about this to help us clarify and troubleshoot this.

Verify that you are using "Excel Workbook" and not "Strict Open XML Spreadsheet". Both use the file extension ".xlsx".
