Data Cache Management Options / Q&A Chache Options Registry Keys
Hey,
We are running the Power BI desktop client on our Terminal servers for a handful of users. We use roaming UPD's between the terminalservers and the Power BI Desktop caches named items into those. We see an exponential growth of User Profile Disk space because of the caching causing Excel, Outlook etc to not function because the UPD is full with caching files. When limiting the cache by hand we can stop the growth while still having good performance.
We want to implement this for all users at once as we don't want to share a tutorial for all users on how to change the cache settings. However, I can't find any registry keys, group policy objects or even PowerShell commands to automate a global setting for all users.
I've found
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Power BI Desktop key.
- Create a new REG_DWORD entry in the key with the following name: GlobalTypeDetectionSetting
And I'm wondering if GlobalTypeDataCacheManagementOptions is a thing or not? I can't find a single thing on it sadly.
Same goes for GlobalTypeQ&ACacheOptions.
Please help!

Hi, OdinPowerBi
I'm not sure if there is a scheme for batch management of Power BI cache settings.
It is suggested to open a support ticket with MSFT to seek technical support ,usually they will have better suggestions.
