Dashboard refresh issue

Hello,

I am getting the error below, any idea how to solve this issue?

Processing error: The following system error occurred: Out of present range. Unable to convert a value to the data type requested for table '<pii>Backlog Details</pii>' column '<pii>Order Created Date (Item)</pii>'. The data provider was unable to convert the value '<pii></pii>' from the source data type 'VT_R8' to the expected data type 'VT_DATE'. Please check the column data types in the data model and data source and ensure that the data types are compatible.

@ClaudiaEspinoza , Value of Order Created Date (Item)  is not in the same format as expected. It can be of wrong data data of date format issue

Hi @ClaudiaEspinoza ,

Please have a check.

This error could be an issue with your M script within your Power BI Desktop file.

Why refresh works in Power BI Desktop but not in Service, It may for the date conversions are handled differently in the Power BI Service, and the Power BI Service is not tolerant of an invalid date.

As a temperary solution, you could refresh the PBIX in Desktop and re-upload the file to the Service.

Or you could check the column data types in the data model and data source and ensure that the data types are compatible.

Or check the data type after importing. If the data type imported from tha data model was incrrect and then not compatible.

I have also found a similar post, please refer to it to see if it helps you.

Type mismatch - Unable to convert a value to the data type requested

  • right-click the colum and use Replace Values. In Query Editor

If there still errors, please provide a screenshot about the error and more details.

Best Regards
