Dark Mode completely unreadable?

I'm using dark mode in Power BI Desktop, and while most of it works fine, I get the following pop-up when deleting tables from Model View:

That's the actual layout & colours. As you can see the "Remove from diagram" button is almost completely invisible. Is there a way to fix this?

By comparison here is the screen that pops-up if I try to edit a relationship:

As you can see the writing and the buttons are clearly visible.

  • Hi SevsBo ,

Thank you for the follow-up and for sharing the additional information.

From what you've described (and based on what I could reproduce locally), it looks like this may be a UI rendering bug in the current version of Power BI Desktop, particularly affecting certain pop-ups when Dark Mode is enabled.

Since this behavior doesn’t appear to be expected and impacts usability, I’d recommend raising a support ticket with Microsoft so the product team can investigate this further.
In the meantime, temporarily switching to Light Mode might be a helpful workaround until the issue is addressed.

If you are still unable to solve the issue you can reach out to Microsoft Support by raising a ticket with Microsoft Support.

    Hi SevsBo ,

Thank you for sharing the issue regarding the "Remove from diagram" button being barely visible in Dark Mode. I understand how that can affect usability. I checked this on the latest version of Power BI Desktop and found that there is now an option to customize the application's appearance, including switching between Light and Dark modes.

To change the theme, go to File > Options and settings > Options, then under the Global section, select Report settings. Scroll down to the Customize appearance (preview) section, where you can choose between Dark, Light, System default, or Legacy themes. After selecting your preferred option, Power BI will update its appearance accordingly.
Please go through the below screenshot:

      Hi Menaka,

Yes, that is what I have done to choose System Default, and as I use Dark Mode on Windows 11 it carried over to Power BI. That in itself if not the issue and most of the Dark Mode works perfectly fine.

The issue I am experiencing arises when I try to delete a table from Model View. The pop-up that appears is so dark that I can barely see the buttons, especially the one highlighted in red. And again, other pop-ups and functions work fine.

So I am wondering if this is a GUI error on my side or if this is a more general error in this release of Power BI? Because I have a hard time imagining that this is intentional.

Edit: I'm also seeing the same problem if I try to export data from tables in Desktop
