DAX coding for new column
Hi all,
I'm after some help please š
Im looking to create a new column which will take two seperate columns, combine into one with one column overwritting some existing data.
I had started with a IF statement but Im not convinced thats correct.
Public Sector should equal Public sector ,
Private Sector should equal Private sector
however I want to show all Education Market Sector as Public sector no matter what is in the Public / Private column.
| Public / Private Sector | Market Sector | New Column |
| Public | Health | Public |
| Private | Commercial | Private |
| Private | Education | Public |
Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated ! Thank you.

You can use the following formula to the desired results in a column:New Column = IF( Table1[Market Sector ] = "Education", "Public", IF( Table1[Public / Private Sector] = "Public" , "Public", IF( Table1[Public / Private Sector] = "Private", "Private" ) ) )

You can use an if condition ,
if([MarketSector] = "Education","Public",[Public/Private Sector])
Hope it helps
