Hi Friends,
I have quick question. Has anyone used DAX Studio ever for Power BI? Anyone having reviews, whether to use it or not ? Any alternatives? or only Power BI editor is the only best option? Need your advice Thanks in advance! Regards,
Rema

Hey,
I use DAX Studio almost each time when I'm writing DAX statements that a little more complex meaning using more than 1 function, due to it's superior formatter and I also use DAX Studio to check where my DAX statements can be optimized from a performance point of view.
Sure, this is not a review, but a recommendation.
But, you should also "plan" some time to get used to all the information that DAX Studio provides, especially when you start thinking about the optimization of your DAX code. This means you also invest in understanding DAX query plans 🙂
Regards,
Tom
I too use DAX Studio when I am looking at creating a more complex DAX measure.
It also is a great way to learn and understand how DAX works and how to write it efficiently. DAX studio works really well and makes it really easy to create and configure measures in your Power BI files.
The awesome advantage is that you can also use DAX Studio for SSAS Tabular Models or Azure Analysis Services.

Thanks @TomMartens @GilbertQ 🙂
I got an idea when should I use DAX. It is basically for complex measures and for better performance.

Is there anyway you can use DAX studio online without downloading the app?
For some organizations, they require very restricted security process in order to get DAX studio downloaded...
Thanks,
