DAX STUDIO and Performance Analyzer

Hello.

I'd like to know how you assess your dashboards performance.

Do you do it as in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3Eqk1ZRUOY (minute 2) where the query is copied to dax studio?

Is it possible to resourt to Evaluate in cases where you want to assess the performance of a measure? (As shown in image below).

What does the duration in dax studio represent?
Why is this duration different than the one shown in performance analyzer after refreshing the visual and what does this one represent?

Thanks in advance.

The duration in DAX Studio is the raw query duration. It is not impacted by external factors.

The duration in Performance analyzer includes the wait for other visuals to finish rendering. It is impacted by external factors.

  • lbendlin Thanks for your reply.

What I don't understand is if you have dax query in performance analyzer why would you use copy query in dax studio? What is the difference between these 2 durations?

    Thank you.
