D365 F&O entity via Odata -> Extremely slow

We are connecting to Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Data Entities via Odata.

This works (reasonably) well with small datasets, but as soon as the data set gets larger, it becomes unworkable.

Even if I modify the data source string to limit the number of records, to say 5,000 or 10,000, PowerBI Desktop will sit there for a very, very long time (hours) 'Applying query changes'

It's been sitting for about 30 mins now with my latest try and it says it downloaded 47 MB....

Is there a way to NOT have it download the data (already have disabled preview)

It seems that the D365 F&O Odata connection is not viable for PowerBI - does anyone have real life experience with this setup?

Hello,

I am facing same problem. It's taking more than 20 mins for just 25 MB. Please advise.

Thanks

Vinoth

Hi RobvB,

Did you ever get a solution for this, or some sort of workaround?
