Custom slicer w/pic attached

Hi.  I'm trying to create a dropdown slicer that looks like this:

I don't want radio buttons and should have the ability to have a different background color when hovered over.  Any ideas?

    Anonymous you don't have the option to change hover over color but you can change the slicer type to dropdown by clicking the arrow key shown in the image below.
