Hi all,
I'm using the Infographic Designer custom visual in Power BI and I'm trying to change the background color of the visual. By default, it appears to have a white background, and I haven't found a way to change the outer edge color.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
These steps do change the internal background, but the outer edge of the visual remains white, which is especially noticeable when placed on a darker report background.
Is there a way to make the entire visual background transparent or match the report background color?
Any suggestions or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

Hi @djmadden97
If the white areas remain visible even after disabling the background under General > Effects, the issue is likely related to elements rendered within the Infographic Designer visual itself, rather than the outer visual container. In such cases, check the visual’s internal formatting settings such as the fill color of unit shapes, category backgrounds, or other embedded elements and adjust them to match the report’s background or increase their transparency. Adding a full-sized rectangle shape within the visual and sending it to the back can also help mask any internal white areas. Additionally, ensure the visual is properly resized to eliminate unintended padding or margins to minimize the appearance of white edges. If these adjustments do not resolve the issue, it may stem from the way the Infographic Designer visual is rendered, in which case the visual’s internal canvas may not support full transparency.

Hi @djmadden97
Welcome to the Microsoft Fabric Forum. Also, thank you @BhavinVyas3003 and @JoBI for your quick response.
To resolve the issue of the persistent white outer background in the Infographic Designer custom visual in Power BI, you can modify the container settings of the visual instead of relying solely on design elements within the visual.
Specifically, select the Infographic Designer visual, navigate to the Format pane, expand the General section, and go to Effects.Under the Background option, you can either turn it Off to make the visual background fully transparent, allowing it to blend seamlessly with any report page background, or turn it On and set the background color to match your report’s theme. Additionally, adjust the transparency slider if needed to achieve the desired level of opacity.

Hello,
You can try to turn on the visual border (General>Effects settings) and choose your desired color to match the background.
Hope this helps
Thank you. I did try this but still white elements I can't get rid of.
The Infographic Designer visual doesn't support changing the outer background color directly.
Workaround:
Hi,
Thank you for your response. I have turned background effects off but still white elements. I have uploaded a picture as I might be getting the terminology wrong.

Hi, I did turn Effects background off but still white elements. I suspect just not possible.
