Custom Font for whole dashboard

Hi! I have built a dashboard.
Now I want to use INTER Font style. I have customised the theme, installed the font on local machine. But still I'm not able to view it properly. For certain visuals its applied for data labels not title. For certain visuals I see no changes!!!

Please provide me the JSON that would work fine and is applied for the whole dashboard uniformly. ie, Title, Axis, Data Label, Values, Legends etc..

In the above image we can clearly see only the values have Inter Font.

If you have done everything right, it could be possible that you have applied changes directly from the properties pane which prevents the theme being applied. you may select the visual and reset it as follows to get the theme work for you.

Hey @V_Jith,

Implementation Steps for Complete Inter Font Integration:

1. Font Installation Prerequisites:

  • Ensure Inter font is installed on all systems where the dashboard will be viewed
  • Verify font installation in Windows Fonts folder or system font directory
  • Test font availability in other Microsoft Office applications first

2. Theme Application Process:

  • Save the above JSON as a .json file (e.g., InterFontTheme.json)
  • In Power BI Desktop, go to View > Themes > Browse for themes
  • Select and apply the custom JSON theme file
  • Allow Power BI to refresh all visuals after theme application

3. Key Features of This Theme:

  • Applies Inter font uniformly across ALL visual elements
  • Covers titles, axis labels, data labels, legends, and tooltips
  • Includes specific font definitions for each visual type
  • Sets consistent font sizes and colors throughout the dashboard

4. Post-Application Verification:

  • Check each visual type individually for font consistency
  • Verify titles, axis labels, data labels, and legends display Inter font
  • Test tooltip font rendering on hover interactions
  • Confirm slicer headers and item text use Inter font

5. Troubleshooting Common Issues:

  • If certain visuals still don't show Inter font, manually format them using the Format pane
  • Clear Power BI cache and restart the application if font changes aren't visible
  • Ensure the exact font name "Inter" matches your system's installed font name
  • Some custom visuals may require individual font configuration through their specific settings

6. Alternative Font Fallback:

  • The theme includes sans-serif as fallback for systems without Inter installed
  • Consider using web-safe alternatives if sharing across different environments
  • Test dashboard appearance on systems without Inter font installed

This comprehensive theme ensures uniform Inter font application across your entire dashboard, addressing the inconsistency issues you're experiencing with partial font application.
