Question: I had a custom connector that was working in Power BI desktop, but I replaced it with an updated version (same name) and now it is not found in the 'Get Data' list of connectors. Is there some kind of cache that I need to clear to make it visible again? I've triple checked that all details in this article match my setup. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-connector-extensibility
Background: The conenctor was working. It was in the folder path '[Documents]/Power BI Desktop/Custom Connectors' and everything is spelled correctly. I also selected the 'Not reccommended' security option - as I said, it was all working correctly. But replacing the file has made it dissappear. I have restarted PBI, restarted my computer, tried unistalling/reinstalling, nothing has worked.
Once you have followed the guidance you described, the next appropriate measure would be to revert to the working version. At the same time, it is appropriate to reach out to the developer of the custom connector with this issue, as they would be the supporting entity.
