Custom Authorization in Power BI
Hello folks,
I want to implement custom authorization based on countries in Power BI desktop and online as well.
Scenario:
I have a large number of Office 365 users, which I have separated by distribution lists in my Office 365 portal.
The distribution list is country specific.
When a user try to opens a Power BI report, I want to see which distribution lists the current user is a member of.
The goal is to filter the nation dropdown filter in power bi, which means that only relevant (Based on Distribution list) countries should appear in the filter dropdown.
Can somebody kindly assist me can we implement such scenario or Is any other way to achieve this in Power BI desktop and online?

You may try setting up row-level security (RLS) for reports.

You can create roles for these countries in PBI Desktop, then publish to Service, and then manually assign the previously created groups to these roles.
