Hi  @AlexG3726 ,

I created some data:

Here are the steps you can follow:

1. Create measure.

Current Month to Date =
CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[amount]),
FILTER(ALL('Table'),
'Table'[date]>=DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY()),1)&&
'Table'[date]<=TODAY()))
Previous Month to Date =
CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[amount]),FILTER(ALL('Table'),
'Table'[date]>=DATE(YEAR(TODAY()),MONTH(TODAY())-1,1)&&
'Table'[date]<=TODAY()))

2. Result:

@AlexG3726 that's where calculation groups come in the picture, which was shared in the first reply. Not sure if I'm missing something here.

This is indeed a solution in such a senario; but for those who can bearly author a right measure, it's beyond their comprehension.

Thanks to the great efforts by MS engineers to simplify syntax of DAX! Most beginners are SUCCESSFULLY MISLED to think that they could easily master DAX; but it turns out that the intricacy of the most frequently used RANKX() is still way beyond their comprehension!

DAX is simple, but NOT EASY!

Thank you, but I see the MTD requires an expression, such as sales (The example in the article is = TOTALMTD(SUM(InternetSales_USD[SalesAmount_USD]),DateTime[DateKey]). I am looking for a MTD and LMTD calculation that doesn't require an expression, so it can be applied to multiple values.

Much appreciated! Would you happen to direct me to finding MTD and LMTD formulas? I'm new to Power BI from Tableau, and my only experience is building MTD/LMTD formulas for individual measure rather than blanket MTD/LMTD formulas
