Cross-report drill through from slightly different datasets

I have one PowerBI file that has data at a monthly level.

I then have a seperate PowerBI file that is exactly the same but now has a weekly element/breakdown in the dataset (ie is 4 times bigger)

Reason for seperating is data size was causing performance issues. 

 

Can I use cross-report drill through from the monthly to the weekly? (keeping all filters)

I cant seem to get it to work

    Hi there,

     

    Have actually managed to get it working - the datasets can be different.

    The only thing is that naming conventions and columns that you drillthrough with need to be available in the other dataset also

    I too can confirm that it works with cross-report drill through also if the reports have different datasets IF:

    • The reports are in the same workspace
    • The table and column name are exactly the same.
    • Fields and settings has been setup as usual
