Credentials work with On Demand Refresh but not Automatic Refresh - Why?

Hi,

 

I have a PBI dashboard setup to connect to an API using Basic credentials.

I've entered the credentials correctly and am able to refresh the datasets within PBI Desktop and via the PBI Service (On Demand), however when I attempt to schedule an automatic refresh, I get the following error.

Your data source can't be refreshed because the credentials are invalid. Please update your credentials and try again.


I don't understand how I'm able to refresh the datasets on demand with the same credentials, however they become invalid if attempting to setup scheduled refresh.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi, davidr 

     

    Have you tried editing credentials? Whether the gateway is connected and operating normally?

    I want to see your refresh history in dataset>>setting. You said your on-demand refresh succeeds but schedule refresh fails, which is weird. I need more information to judge.

    If the data source contains mixed mode, these options need to be turned on in the 'manage gateway'.
