Creating relationships and single filters for all tables

I have several tables in my report. To link all of the tables together and have single filter to search by "Client Name & ID" I created a Client ID & Name table with a relationship ID column. I created a relationship ID column in all other tables to manage the relationships and link tables. I can now have all tables on one sheet and the single filter (i.e. Relationship ID) filters all the tables.

My issue is, I have date columns in each of the tables as well. I have a master date table with only dates (DateKey_2). I tried linking all the other tables to the DateKey table to have another single filter for dates, but this did not work - not sure why.

Can someone help me with creating relationships amongst all tables based on dates? My ideal outcome would be that I have only two slicers: (1) Client Name & ID and (2) Date.

Thank you!Power BI sample.PNG

Hi @kpangelinan,

It's clear as you posted that the column to create a relationship is the column of dates. What is the outcome when you established the relationships? Could you please check these items below:

1. If the column in one side of the relationship is a datekey, so the column in the other table should also be a datekey. It's the same if the column is a date.

2. The date table, DateKey_2, should have at least one date column.

Best Regards!

I had an issue when trying to create multiple relationships,  so just settled with the dates. Creating the relationship between the dates was easy enough and worked. Thanks for your time and help.
