Creating bespoke maps and location category

Hi Forum,

 

I want to be able to show the lociton of multiple projects on a map, but have very poor location data in terms of coordiates.

However, all projects fall within a locaiton hiererchy of Region, and subregion.
Is it possible to defined my own map layer and the boundaries of these sub-regions, so that the count of projects in each sub-region can be displayed on a map?

    Hi, DaveScott 

     

    It is difficult to use the map without a geographic location. Do you want to consider using treemaps visual?

    Hi v-janeyg-msft ,

    Thanks for this, I'll look into tree maps. It could be helpful.
    In terms of the maps, I am not tyring to use a map without geographic locaitons, but rather woudl like to be able to define my own geographic locatiosn. So, for example, whilst I could show a count of porejcts in each US State, I want to be able to struture this count according to my client's own operational bounaries. Can this be done? I guess I'd need to import my own map layer somehow. Maybe part of the ESRI Maps app?
