Creating a dimension Date table but running into issues with fact tables with just annual data

Hello, I have several facts/data tables but they are all annual data. I tried to create a common dimension table for 'date' using calendar() function, but they are all month/day/year format. i tried to "annualize" it by adding a 'year' column and tried to connect my fact tables to this dim table but i ran into many-to-many issue. does anyone have any tips/best practice suggestions for me if i had, say, 5 data tables all with just annual data, and one data table that is monthly? how would i connect these tables to a common date table without the many-to-many error? thanks

  • jscivias even if your facts table has annual data, I would recommend creating a dummy date (maybe the end of the year) and then using that new column to set a relationship with the date dimension on the date column.
