I have data that shows, for each database, what version it had at a given date. I want to show this change over time in a graph. Something like this:
On the left is the database and the bottom axis is the date. The bars show what version each database had at a given date. This graph is from Tableau.
Desired
I'd like to produce something similar in Power BI. It doesn't necessarily have to be a bar chart, it just needs to show that change of version over time. Atm I'm struggling with showing a date axis on the bar chart. I can only get a discrete value, such as the count of the date field. And I believe it's showing only the latest DB version for each database, rather than a timeline:
Is there somekind of way to do this either via a new visual or otherwise?

That looks like a Gantt chart. You could use one of the available Gantt charts in AppSource (click on the ellipsis in the visualization panel and "Get More Visuals". Or you could use the new Deneb visual and make a custom one. See this video, if interested.
