Creating a bar chart to display ranges

Hello Power BI Community,

I hope you're all doing well. I'm facing a challenge while trying to create a custom bar chart viz in Power BI. I have a dataset with traits (categorical data - about 20 traits) and their corresponding low and high values, and I want to display these traits on the y-axis and their associated ranges on the x-axis. The x axis must be on a scale of 1-10 and the range for each trait has to be displayed. For example, if trait 1 has a low value of 5 and a high value of 7, I need the bar chart to highlight 5-7 on a 10 point scale. The viz would have 20 bars with the range (low to high) on each 10 point bar.

I've tried various approaches, including grouping by traits and creating calculated columns, but I'm having difficulty achieving the desired result.

If anyone has experience/suggestions on how to structure this, I'd greatly appreciate your guidance.

Thank you in advance

Are you perhaps looking for something like a Gantt chart? There are a number of extensions that add this functionality to the Custom Visuals within PowerBI. You might then be able to customise it further to achieve what you're looking for.
