Creating Real-Time Genesys Cloud Dashboards in Power BI: Options and Guidance Needed

Hi all,

I'm new to Power BI & DB, and my manager has tasked me with creating real-time dashboards for Genesys Cloud data. Is the streaming dataset option in Power BI Service the only way to achieve this? Can I connect Power BI directly to the Genesys Cloud API, or are there other viable options available? I would appreciate detailed guidance on how to approach this task effectively.

Thanks,

Manoj Prabhakar

Hi @manoj_0911 ,

Power BI does not have a native connector specifically for Genesys Cloud, but you can try the following steps:

  1. In Power BI Service, create a new dashboard.
  2. Select Edit > Add a tile > Custom Streaming Data > Next.
  3. Choose Add streaming dataset and select the type based on your data source and needs (e.g., API, PubNub).
  4. Configure your dataset with the necessary details from your data source (e.g., API keys, endpoint URLs).
  5. Use the dataset to create tiles on your dashboard that will update in real-time.

For detailed guidance on setting up real-time streaming in Power BI, refer to this documentation.

Hope it helps!
