Create a Variable in a table column from a drop down list

Hi All, I'm new to Power BI but have a requirement to create a line item drop down list that will be used in a calculation. To detail it out. I have a line item for a project. I need in the table view (per line item) a field called Projected Inflation. The user would select a whole value between 2 and 8 from the drop down. Then from that selection for that line item in the table I would have another field called Future cost of project. This would be calculated based on other field in the table and the selected Projected Inflation. I think I have the calculation all  figured out but I need help with a drop down to select the Projected Inflation amt from within the table.

I've search the site and google but have not found a solution for my project. Any help would be

appreciated.

To add to original post here's the table.

What I'm trying to do is make Precentage column a drop down so user can select 2 thru 8, but only one value. The requirement is that every line is a independant percentage of the other lines. As you see it now there is multi lines but with different precentage. That because I joined it to a second table with Squence as the key and the precentages of 2 thur 8. But that is not working like I had hoped. I'm thinking since the 2 thru 8 in constant there should be a way to set them as a fix value some how.

Then take the users selected precentage into a calculation for the field not shown "Future Cost".

From a spreadsheet view, it's the fields in RED that I'm trying to come up with in my report.

Thanks!!

Hi

Is this what you want ?

if this is what you want what  i did is

  1. just drag and drop the percentage column to a slicer
  2. create a matrix table
  3. in matrix table format visuals i made layout style as outline and switch off sub total
  4. changed format of the percentage column to text

This was a solution I presented to the business area, however they want it at the individual line item. The projects will be in different areas of the country so rates could be different and that's what they want to capture. In my example the different color lines are different projects and they selected different rates.

Sorry if my question wasn't clear or examplt. Each project can have a different rate therefore I need the ability to change it at the line item within the table.

Hi,

Your initial requirement is sorted now, right? In my previous comment, I provide the solution for "need help with a dropdown to select the Projected Inflation amount from within the table."?

Thanks
