Crash on startup
Hi, I get the following error when I try to start Power BI desktop and I've had no luck with a response to "Send a frown" Does anyone have an idea of what's going on? Cheers, Brett ...
I've found a workaround that's helped me progress. I created a new windows user without any special characters in the name. Now, running power BI as that user works fine.
My guess at the root cause is incorrect encoding of special characters into XML configuration which is passed between the various components of Power BI.
Does that happen when you try to open a specific .pbix file or does it happen when opening the program i.e. from the start menu?
It happens when I open the program from the start menu. The splash screen shows for about 30 seconds before the error message.
