Couldn't retrieve the data model for this report - Aug 2024 Update

I've just updated Power BI Desktop to Aug 2024 edition "2.132.908.0 64-bit (August 2024)", upon opening Power BI I get:

Even though no report has been opened at this point, none of my reports load even if I refresh the data and clear the cache, is anyone else getting this with the latest update?

Just an update, this might be an installer error with the latest version, I completely Uninstalled the Aug 2024 version and installed it from scratch (instead of updating from July 2024) and I haven't had the error so far, so this might be a workaround for others.

Hello All,

I still have this issue. None of the Power BI desktop report loads. It throws the following error from last week all of a sudden.

Is this still a Microsoft release issue? Uninstalling and re-installing helps?

i uninstalled Aug 2024 version completely and reinstalled again Aug 2024 version back again and did not find this error again!! Thanks @trevrobwhite2

yes this is an issue in the august update, follow this issue to know when it is resolved
