Couldn't load the data for this visual

We are using PBI Report Server with an embedded report that has been working fine until two weeks ago. Since then, it will not load at all for some users, loads very slowly for others and if it does load, filters are not working. Users get the "Couldn't load the data for this visual" generic error message.

We have not made any changes to the report but did upgrade the server to the May 2019 version three weeks ago. The report worked fine for a week after that before it started getting errors.

Any suggestions on a solution?

@Anonymous ,

This issue could happen if the data source was removed, renamed, moved, offline, or permissions have changed. Check that the source is still in the location we are pointing to and you still have permission to access it. If that isn't the issue, the source may be slow. Try again later during a time when the load on the source is smaller.
