Cortana Intergration With PBI Report

Hello All,

Need your help.

I have created a cortana report in PBI and published over the cloud. In system's account settings I have added the account which I used to publish the pbi report. Then using cortana (I didnt login with any of account in cortana), I could access the cortana pbi report.

Now I need that other users could access the same report using the cortna on their machine. Are there any specific precautonary steps to acheive this type of functionality?

I tried accessing my report using my collegues machine through cortana but it didn't work. He logged in with his hot mail account in his cortana and tried to access my report. So I am totally confused now how they should access my report using their cortana? I guess I am missing something like to give him access, which account he needs to login to his cortana etc. I even tried to add my microsoft account on his machine's account settings but that too didn't work.

Please advise.

Thank you!

Harshad

    Hi Anonymous,

For enable cortana with power bi, you can refer to belwo link:

Enable Cortana to access Power BI reports (and their underlying datasets)

BTW, if your account can't sign up to power bi service, it also can't use in above steps.

Signing up for Power BI as an individual

What email address can be used with Power BI?

Power BI requires that you use a work, or school, email address to sign up. Power BI does not support email addresses provided by consumer email services or telecommunication providers. This includes outlook.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com and others.

If you try to sign up with a personal email address, you will get a message indicating to use a work or school email address.

        Hi Anonymous,

        >>Actually he doesn't work on power bi but I have shared my cortana report to his email id.

Current share cortana report only works on users who has power bi accounts. I don't think external user can access to your power bi datasets.

    Hi,

I started using Cortana with Power BI with some success.  However, in some cases, Cortana search still found some old reports that have been deleted weeks ago (including the corresponding dataset).  I have searched for the dataset that Cortana located but it is nowhere to be found.  Did I miss something here, or anyone can offer some tips, please?

    Thanks,
