Copying table from Table view does not work completely

Hi,

I frequently use the 'Copy Table' option to copy filtered data from Power BI to Excel. But for the past few days, when I copy the data, instead of getting only the filtered information, it copies the entire table. So instead of copying 68 rows, it ends up copying 3 million rows, and my computer doesn’t really like it.

Are other people experiencing the same issue? Do you know of any options that could help me resolve this problem?

Hi @Sehetret  - I saw many users have recently reported the same issue with the 'Copy Table' option in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service. It seems to be a bug introduced in a recent Power BI update (likely March or April 2025). Instead of copying just the filtered rows from a visual, it copies all rows from the underlying table, which can be overwhelming and crash Excel or slow down your machine.

suggestion:

You can roll back to a previous version of Power BI Desktop if this issue is critical for your workflow

Dear

I have exactly the same problem, since last Friday I think. It has been a tremendous problem given by the volume of data that one handles and needs to transfer it to Excel, and using Dax is not an option since one does many different queries and filters.

I remain attentive to see if you managed to solve it.
