Copy functionality of SSAS data schema to PBI desktop | Tabular editor

HI Team, 

Is there any way by which we can migrate On prem SSAS tabular model ( data schema ) to PBI Desktop? 
I know about AAS to PBI dataset which was recently released by Microsoft but in our case we are using On prem SSAS tabular server. one way is by using tabular editor we can copy paste table or measures from SSAS to PBI desktop but somehow this functionality also not working. 
In one tabular editor instance, we are opening SSAS tabular cube for Model 1 and another tabular instance , we are connecting to PBI desktop local version (blank copy), while copy pasting table directly from tabular editor , it pasted the table succesfully but while applying the changes in PBI desktop , It is getting removed. 

Is there any settings or configuration we are missing while doing this operation?
