Copy format from Power BI visualization in one report to visualization in another report

Hello - Iam looking to copy just the formatting from a visualization in one Power BI report to that same type of visualization in another Power BI report (a Card visualization in this example).  When I select the Card visual in one report (Report #1) and click on the 'Format Painter' button, I get the brush, as expected.  However, when I toggle to the other report (Report #2) which also has a Card visual, the brush is no longer present to click on in Report #2.  I'm trying to avoid having to separately format the same visuals in the 2 reports - is there a way to apply the formatting to the same visuals created in 2 different Power BI reports?

Thank you!

Hi @PatDools
Format painter working only in the same pbix.
There are a few other options to achieve your goal :
1. You can copy and paste the visual from the formatted pbix and then use a format painter.
(you will see a pasted visual like a grey square with an X, don't be afraid the formatting will still work)

2. You can create a custom theme and use it on all reports.

Thank you for the clear response and showing how I can more efficiently move desired formattings from one visual or one report to another - much appreciated!
