Copy and paste not working on visuals in Power BI Desktop Version : 2.144.679.0 64-bit (juin 2025)

Hello,

It seems Copy and paste not working on visuals in Power BI Desktop Version : 2.144.679.0 64-bit (juin 2025).

Could you please have a look?

PS: As suggested in a previous post, I have already uninstall Power BI Desktop and reinstall it but still not working properly.

Thanks

Gael

Hi @GaelCottet ,

Thanks for reporting this issue. There have been similar reports about copy/paste not working on visuals in the June 2025 (2.144.679.0) version of Power BI Desktop.

Suggestions:

  • This is likely a regression or bug introduced in this release.
  • As you already tried reinstalling, the problem is not local.
  • As a workaround, try using the previous (May 2025) version of Power BI Desktop if possible. You can download earlier versions from the official Power BI Desktop archive.
  • If rollback is not possible, check if copy/paste works in a blank/new PBIX file (to rule out file-specific issues).

Next steps:

  • Please consider submitting feedback directly from Power BI Desktop via "Help > Feedback" to help Microsoft track and fix the issue.
  • Monitor the Power BI release notes for upcoming fixes.

Let us know if rolling back helps, or if you discover any additional workaround!

Hello all,

I found a cause regarding the problem of copy / paste. In parallel of using Power BI Desktop, I have a VM open using Citrix Workspace, When I closed the citrix workspace, then the copy / paste works again in Power BI Desktop!

Citrix already caused me the same problem with another app.

Best regards,

Gaël

Hi!

I've been having issues with this since mid-may and couldn't find anything that helped. I do also sometimes use a VM  (Citrix as well) and just tested it out. Working in PBI while outside of Citrix but having the VM open on another screen too did indeed prevent me from copying and pasting the visuals.
I hope they fix this issue but at least now I know how to work around it.

Thanks!

Hey!

I can confirm this, this was also my problem. Working in PBI while having a VM (Citrix) open prevents you from copy and pasting. When closing the VM (Citrix) it will allow you again to copy paste within PBI.

Many thanks for this response/solution.

Im experiencing the same issues. For me the versions of April and May also don't work.

Hi @burakkaragoz

This morning I get the same problem as before. It works the first time after reinstalling but it seems not working after!

It is a nightmare to work without copy paste of visuals!

I put May 2025 version but after using it one hour, I cannot anymore copy / paste.

If someone has a solution, really appreciated!

Gael

Hi @BURA

I have installed this one: Version: 2.142.1277.0 64-bit (avril 2025) and it works fine. Thanks a lot for your reply and the suggestions. Very appreciated.

I will submit a feedback to Microsoft as well.

Have a good day!
