Hello,
I'm trying to convert a Tableau report to Power BI (pic attached). In Tableau I used a parameter filter to pull values from a database column and then based on user selection I compare the parameter selection with the database and set flag to "true" if they match and use that as an intrinsic filter to display the summary for the value selected. in the pic am selecting a Year/Month value which is actually a text field to display summary for top grid and then dynamically calculate Year-1/Month to display the bottom grid summary.
Below the 2 grids I have to display granular level data from the database for both the grids.
Is there a similar way to do that in Power BI. I'm attaching the pbix file here
Thanks in advance
Hi Amit,
Thanks for your reply. my problem is not the calculation but more of filtering the dataset dynamically with the value in the parameter and then calculate previous year and filter data for that value and display both in the 2 grids. I'm not able to compare the parameter value to the same dimension field in the dataset to filter my grids.

@analyst101 , You can use numeric parameters in Power BI. Based on selected values, you can change and calculate new measure
